Wine Spectator 89 points - A dark, toasty style, with ganache and espresso notes leading the way for dark plum, fig and blackberry paste flavors. A cocoa edge lingers through the finish, showing good cut and definition. Drink now through 2016. 750 cases imported.-JM (Oct 31 2014)
Paul and Edith Chaudiere started this cuvee in 1990 and chose the name ”Quintessence” to highlight the concentration of this wine essentially made of Syrah and the careful selection of most of the best plots of the Estate. Indeed, such a name implies extreme rigor, and not every vintage can achieve a Quintessence!
