The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has an intense bouquet of blueberry, cassis and iodine aromas, almost Chambolle-like in style. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Citrus-fresh with orange peel and marmalade notes toward the persistent finish. Excellent.

Aromas and flavors of black currant, black cherry, violet and spice are backed by a solid spine of tannins in this supple, yet muscular red. The tannins are assertive now, leaving a dusting of chalk and cocoa on the finish. Best from 2024 through 2045.
