We're thrilled to have spirits enthusiast, Sean McCarthy guiding us on this exploration of great Bourbon & Rye.

Before Prohibition, Rye Whiskey was America’s #1 spirit. Nearly lost for 100 years, Redemption is bringing back bold, spicy, ‘rye-forward’ whiskey.
Come rediscover America’s original favorite. This is the Rye Revival!

The Lost Century

A love for rye whiskey that for over a century had been woven into the fabric of America was undone by Prohibition. While a post war boom was fueling the roaring 20’s, the alcohol ban did the opposite for rye. By the time Prohibition ended in 1933, the landscape had changed. Rye’s biggest rival bourbon was boosted by corn subsidies that made it cheaper to make. Then old world spirits like scotch, vodka, and gin were able to quickly flood America. Crowded out, rye fell into state of perpetual decline. Where it once had been an American right of passage, new generations grew up not even knowing of its existence.

Now, for the first time in 100 years, rye is back at the forefront of the American whiskey conversation, coveted by aficionados and bartenders alike. At Redemption, they know it’s not serendipity that saw it rediscovered. Quintessentially American, no other spirit connects with their character like rye. Ask any bartender worth their shaker, and they’ll tell you nothing can replace it. Redemption is helping new generations discover the invincible character and transcendent flavors of true American rye-forward whiskey.
